Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day in Australia is dedicated to Australians who died as a result of war.

A minute of silence is dedicated to the deceased, especially for soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation.

A Symbol of Remembrance Day is the red poppy - they are worn on blazers, shirts, jumpers and other items of clothing on Remembrance Day to remember those who died during a war. Poppies were among the first plants that came from the battlefields of northern France and Belgium during World War I. Some people believed the popular myth that poppies were rich in their redness because they blossomed from grounds that were saturated with soldiers’ blood.

We like to acknowledge Remembrance day with the children by acknowledging the important job our soldiers do.
We also like to use a simple finger play.
We have them for sale $12 each just comment below if you are interested.

Songs for Saturday - Sing a Rainbow

The Rainbow Song is one I like to sing during group time.
We use key word signing throughout our day. As we sing we like to sign along to the rainbow song.
After the song the children like to think of other colours and we learn the signs to them as well.

BUSY TIMES

What an amazing busy time we are having at the moment....
life just seems to get in the way sometimes.  jobs, study, training, housework all the boring stuff!
At the moment with the warmer weather we are reintroducing lots of water play with the children...
One of their favorties is water wall play

Here are some fantastic examples of water walls.
Hours and hours of fun can be had here.
not to mention the learning that takes place.
